George Bernard Shaw

Every summer, I look forward to going out to the Shaw festival in Niagara-on-the-Lake and seeing a few plays. I make it a point to see at least one play by Shaw a year - and always a play I haven't seen before. Shaw had that strange and mystical ability to make people talking about ideas (socialism, war, sexual equality) seem like a fun entertainment.

My top five favourite Shaw plays (in no particular order) are:

  1. Major Barbara
  2. You Never Can Tell
  3. Caesar and Cleopatra
  4. Arms and the Man
  5. Saint Joan
