Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov

I'm about 50 pages from the end of Pale Fire by Vladimir Nabokov, a novel about which I am somewhat conflicted. I love the humour of Nabokov's writing, but sometimes I think that I'm not catching all the layers of the book - it's a bit like an Easter egg for lit crit types. Aside from that feeling of not getting all the references, however, it is a really fine book and one that I am certainly enjoying.
